Positive Reinforcement for Players

Posted On: Saturday, November 26, 2016
By: Tiffany Parks

This year, as the new head coach for the girl’s program, I am implementing a positive reinforcement chart.  With the help of our media specialist, Jerri Moore, we have created a poster to go on each girls locker. These posters will be used to track personal goals for the season.  Examples of some goals will be Free Throw percentage of 80% plus or double digit rebounds.  Depending on the whether the player is on JV or Varsity the goals will vary.  My intentions are to help the players see the whole game, not just the score.  We are also working on a team chart for each game.  Both of these tools will give each player a goal that is achievable.  Hopefully focusing on the positive will create a positive atmosphere.  At the end of the season, we ae going to have a poster party and create a full-size poster that the girls will be able to frame and take home. Please support me in my efforts to maintain a positive atmosphere at Hunt High School, by attending/cheering at games or by giving uplifting words to our athletes.  If our culture in Wilson will continue to be supportive and show support through wins and losses this will help our students develop these habits as well.  Our students are the future of this community.  I hope to see you at the games, wear blue/white with MOJO pride. GO WARRIORS!
